mix:
Shake sides A and B vigorously.
Measure equal volumes of A and B into clean plastic or metal containers.
Combine both sides into a third clean mixing container and mix vigorously for at least one minute, taking care to scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing container with the mixing utensil, until the product is uniform in color.
NOTE: To ensure thorough coverage, lightly brush release agent over all surfaces of the model with a soft brush. Follow with a mist coat and let the release agent dry for 30 minutes. Because no two applications are ever the same, if in doubt about the performance of this material, a small test application is recommended to determine if it is suitable for your project.
Measure and mix...
Liquid polyurethane is moisture sensitive and will absorb moisture from the atmosphere. Mixing tools and containers should be clean and made of metal or plastic. Material should be stored and used in a warm environment (73°F/23°C).
Important: Stir Part B thoroughly before dispensing. After dispensing equal parts Part A and Part B into a mixing container, mix thoroughly for at least 3 minutes, making sure to scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing container several times.
If mixing large quantities (16 lbs/7 kg or more) at one time, use a mechanical mixer (i.e. squirrel mixer or equivalent) for 3 minutes, then carefully hand mix for one minute following the instructions above. Then, pour the entire amount into a new, clean mixing container and do it all over again.
Although this product is formulated to minimize air pockets in the cured rubber, vacuum degassing prior to pouring the rubber will further reduce entrapped air.
hint:
Always wear a respirator or self-contained breathing apparatus when working with polyurethane.
Use between 65F and 75F in a humidity-controlled environment.
AeroMarine Products Concrete Molding and Stamping Rubber 75A Polyurethane is moisture sensitive.
Use only clean plastic and/or metal mixing utensils and containers.
Do not use paper or wood.
Recap the bottle immediately after use.
The Extend-It Aerosol Nitrogen Blanket can be used to protect products from moisture contamination.
Never mix less than 3 oz of product as this ratio is difficult to measure and takes longer to cure as the exothermic reaction does not generate much heat at this volume.
Avoid mixing with electric drills as they create friction and mixing with electric drills will initiate the exothermic curing process and cause the product to cure in the mixing container.
It is always best to mix materials by hand using a plastic or metal mixing utensil.
Do not change the mix ratio. Changing the mix ratio to change the cure cycle does not work with polyurethanes, unlike some polyester resins.
Mix in a clean plastic container. Paper cups and wooden stirring utensils can contain moisture, which can adversely affect urethane rubber. Avoid waxed paper cups, as the wax may melt and stain the rubber.
Bubbles in polyurethane are almost always caused by moisture. Do everything possible to keep moisture out of the mixture. Put the lid on the container immediately after use. Do not use urethane rubber in rainy weather or when there is high humidity. Avoid pouring on unsealed water-based products such as plaster or hydrocal. Seal the plaster or hydrocal with a product such as Krylon Clear Acrylic.
Avoid mixing large batches - the larger the batch, the more exothermic or heat will be generated during the cure cycle. If you're making large molds, mix up small batches to make the process more manageable.
Shake or stir well before use - liquid ingredients may settle in container during storage. Shake or stir each component thoroughly before mixing. Let it sit for a few minutes to allow any air bubbles to rise to the surface after shaking the container.
