Junshan Silver Needle Tea
Thick needle-like tea buds
Delicate aroma with a touch of floral notes

Alias: Junshan Silver Needle

Known as the king of yellow tea and one of the top ten famous teas in China, this rare and precious yellow tea isIt was presented to Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this year (2006) as a Chinese state gift.

The tea is produced in Junshan Island (also known as Immortal Island) in Dongting Lake, Hunan Province. The annual production of this tea is very limited, and only pre-Qingming and early harvests are used.

The tea leaves picked during this period are processed into other teas such as Junshan Maojian and Junshan Deer tea.

Junshan Silver Needle was a kind of court tribute tea in ancient times, and it was also a famous tea that Chairman Mao loved to drink.

taste:
Delicate aroma with light floral notes. The first sip is smooth, light and sweet, but ends with fleeting smokiness. This smokiness is only present on the first brew and is not at all offensive. If anything, we feel that it actually adds character to the tea and makes the sweetness more prominent in later tastings. After a few cups, you can still feel a touch of sweetness in your mouth.

appearance:
Junshan Yinzhen consists of thick, needle-like tea buds that look dry, almost like aged tea. However, it's all a matter of processing - the tea leaves are very fresh and you can tell by the taste.

origin:
Junshan, Hunan

Harvest period:
spring

Jushan Silver Needle Tea Introduction:

Authentic Junshan Yinzhen is the rarest of the famous Chinese teas. As the only yellow tea in the list of famous Chinese teas, it is the most important representative of this endangered art form. Its planting area is limited, and the labor required for production is cumbersome and complicated, which limits the total annual output of real Junshan silver needles to only 500 kilograms.

China's third tea, Junshan Yinzhen, a famous Chinese black tea variety. Junshan is an island on Dongting Lake in Hunan Province, central China. The land is fertile and the climate is humid, which is very suitable for growing tea.

Junshan Yinzhen tea leaves have long silvery, soft tips. Most of the large leaves are removed by the pickers. It has a wonderful aroma that recurs and makes a truly delicious soup.

Brewing Tips:

We recommend glass or porcelain tea sets. Rinse cups and teapots with hot water.

Use about 2 grams of tea leaves (1-2 teaspoons) per 150ml of water.

Steep tea leaves in hot water between 85°c (185°F) and 90°c (194°F) for 1 minute for first and second brewing.

Gradually increase steep time and temperature for subsequent brews.
