Refined Glycerin - End Use Application


Application use

This colorless, odorless, sweet, viscous liquid is hygroscopic.
End uses of glycerin include pharmaceutical applications, food and beverage ingredients, sweeteners, personal care products such as toothpaste, cosmetics, soaps, polyether polyols, alkyds, explosives, humectants, coatings, pet food, lubricants, Flexible foams, solid fuels, de-icers/anti-icers, paints, textiles, surface coatings, paper and printing, plastics, household chemicals, agriculture, toiletries, tobacco, rubber, lubricants, PU forms, as good additives and many other industries.

Pharmaceuticals and drugs.

• Used in medical and pharmaceutical formulations, primarily as a means of improving smoothness, providing lubricity and humectants
• Suppositories, cough syrups, elixirs, and expectorants

Personal Care and Cosmetics

• Use as an emollient, humectant, solvent and lubricant in personal care products.
• Competes with sorbitol, although glycerin has better taste and higher solubility.
• Toothpaste, mouthwash, skin care products, shaving cream, hair care products and soaps

food and drinks

• Helps preserve food as a humectant, solvent and sweetener
• Solvents for flavors and food colorings
• Used in the manufacture of polyglycerol esters for shortening and margarine

Polyether polyol
• One of the main raw materials for the production of flexible foam polio, and to a lesser extent rigid polyurethane foam
• Glycerin is an initiator for the addition of propylene oxide/ethylene oxide

Alkyd (plastic) and cellophane

• For surface coatings and paints
• Used as a softener and plasticizer to impart flexibility, flexibility and toughness
