Instructions for use:
1. Tear open the package. Prior to application, identify and apply direct pressure to the major part of the bleeding, then remove excess blood if feasible. Take out the chitosan gauze and take one end of the Z-folded gauze.
2. Wrap the unfolded chitosan gauze tightly around the source of bleeding. Wrap the remaining wound with chitosan gauze or standard gauze above the skin level.
3. If bleeding continues, apply firm, direct pressure to the wound for 1 minute or until bleeding stops.
4. If necessary, the excess chitosan gauze can be torn off or cut off. Wrap and tie a bandage tightly to maintain pressure on the wound.
5. Dispose of any remaining chitosan gauze according to local biowaste standard protocols.
6. Transfer the patient to a medical facility as soon as possible.
7. Show the empty package to the medical staff.
Precautions:
- For external use only.
-do not eat. If ingested, drink a glass of water to avoid discomfort.
- Loss of sterility may present a risk of infection. Do not re-sterilize.
-Avoid inhalation. Do not apply to eyes. In case of eye irritation, flush with water for 5 minutes.
- Stay away from children.
- Reuse may cause risk of cross-contamination and decreased performance.
Attention to medical personnel:
1. Physically remove chitosan gauze and any loose surface particles from the wound.
2. Irrigate the entire wound area completely with a sterile saline irrigation solution.
3. Perform normal flushing and/or suctioning.
4. Ensure all product is removed from the wound prior to commencing wound treatment.
5. Dispose of the removed chitosan gauze and residue according to local biowaste standard protocols.
