Egidio Dal Colle opens a family-run confectionary in Cellore d'Illasi.He employed a strategy unusual in the confectionery industry that proved very successful in the following years: the use of yeast in his products.Thanks to this inspired idea, Egidio - nicknamed "The Sorcerer of Yeast" - won the gold medal for best bread making at the Milan City Fair in 1925.This coveted award helped establish Dal Colle's name in the industry and encouraged the founder to pass on all his industry secrets to his son Ettore, who took over the business and decided to expand his father's premises and put pandoro and panettone added to the product assortment.
