The taste of Pu'er tea
The fermented Pu-erh tea brewed is dark red with a strong earthy pungent taste. For best brewing results, use boiling water. Unlike most other teas, Pu-erh tea is usually purchased in a compressed state rather than loose leaf form. The leaves are pressed together during processing and formed into various shapes. The "tea bricks" that were once used as currency were usually made from Pu'er tea. You just scrape some tea from the brick or ball into the teapot. Unfermented Pu-erh tea has a unique smoky flavor. Its brew color is darker than green tea. With newer raw pu-erh, when your tongue first touches the tea, you may find it a bit bitter or grassy. However, the bitterness dissipates quickly and transforms into a subtle sweetness that coats the mouth, especially as the taste and aroma change after the infusion. The raw material is sun-dried green tea from Menghai, Yunnan. The strips are dense, uniform in thickness and brown; the aroma is old, the soup color is dark red and bright, the taste is mellow, the taste is full and three-dimensional, the tea is thick and smooth, and the liver color of the leaf bottom is white. Tender and even, the leaf base is vigorous, the low-fermentation cooked brick, the fragrance is strong, it is really a classic and successful work.

step
- Non-fermented Pu-erh tea:Unfermented tea leaves have a bitter taste but are worth keeping at home. Watching the tea leaves slowly ferment and age, the color will change, and the aroma will improve, is a very happy thing.- Fermented Pu'er Tea:Tea leaves are processed after being fermented by natural bacteria. The taste is mild and you can have a silky texture and drink it straight. It also gives you a great experience in brewing and drinking tea, especially the mellow aroma it provides like an aged red wine. You can also age it at home year after year to increase its value and make it smoother. Black Pu'er is so black because it undergoes initial oxidation before firing, just like other black teas. These teas age well and change over time, although not as dramatically as green pu-erh teas. These are not for people who don't like tea. They make strong aroma cups and most people are quick to judge whether they like pu-erh or not. There are a few things to consider before judging your taste for these teas. First of all, there are many varieties of pu-erh, not only dark or green, but there are many types in both categories. Second, many pu-erh teas smell earthy, even a little fishy. Don't be discouraged, the aroma will be very different from the actual taste in your glass. Black Pu'er is the easiest to brew; unlike traditional tea preparation, you can't over-brew this tea. Prepare the pu-erh with as hot water as possible, soaking for 5-7 minutes or longer if you prefer. You can wash the tea leaves once or twice to optimize the flavor. No matter what you do, it's almost impossible to ruin this cup of tea!
Health benefits:
Pu-erh tea is said to lower blood cholesterol. It is also widely believed in Chinese culture that it can counteract the ill effects of heavy drinking. In traditional Chinese medicine, tea is believed to strengthen the spleen and stomach. It also helps with weight loss.
