Vietnamese soy sauce

Soy sauce is a condiment made from soybeans. Vietnamese soy sauce is widely used to enhance the flavor of many traditional dishes such as noodles and pasta. In Vietnam, there are three main types of soy sauce, and the label description is as follows:

  • Standard, not described or described as thanh vi, meaning light. This is one of the most popular as it can be poured directly into dishes and has a light flavor.

  • The dark, thick and concentrated variety is called dam dac or hao vi. This type of sauce is too thick to be used directly, so it is often used as a base for dipping sauces with water or vinegar.
